The objective of a Backgammon match is to move your pieces around the game board and get them off the game board quicker than your competitor who works harder to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a round of Backgammon requires both tactics and luck. How far you will be able to shift your chips is up to the numbers from tossing the dice, and how you move your checkers are decided on by your overall gambling plans. Players use a few tactics in the different parts of a match based on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Tactic
The aim of the Running Game plan is to bring all your checkers into your inner board and get them off as quickly as you could. This strategy focuses on the pace of advancing your chips with little or no time spent to hit or barricade your competitor’s chips. The best scenario to use this tactic is when you think you might be able to shift your own chips a lot faster than your opponent does: when 1) you have less chips on the game board; 2) all your pieces have moved beyond your competitor’s checkers; or 3) your opposing player does not use the hitting or blocking plan.
The Blocking Game Tactic
The primary aim of the blocking tactic, by the title, is to stop your opponent’s checkers, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your pieces quickly. Once you’ve established the blockade for your opponent’s movement with a few checkers, you can shift your other checkers rapidly from the board. You will need to also have a good strategy when to withdraw and shift the checkers that you employed for blocking. The game becomes interesting when the competitor utilizes the same blocking strategy.
